Kyla Wight One Month on Since UK Unsigned Win

Posted on Friday, 29 October 2010 07:54AM by Features Editor
Since winning the people's vote in the 2010 UK Unsigned competition Kyla Wight certainly hasn't let the grass grow under her feet. With an energy that is to be admired, the 45 year old mother of five from Kent has launched herself into some very exciting projects.

Kyla is now working with a team of inspiring professionals to ensure that this hard working momentum is maintained. Her passion to succeed, not only in the music industry but also in charity work, exudes from every pore and she definitely deserves it.

Kyla generously gave up a Sunday evening to give her first post UKU live performance with guitarist Jon Lodge at a fundraiser in Maidstone. The event, held at the Breeze Bar was in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. During her performance you could have heard a pin drop. Her ability to reach out to the audience, both young and old is more than commendable for the artist who juggles her passion for performing with the routine of raising five children. Alannah, her only daughter was at the Band Festival and seems to have picked up Kyla's enthusiasm for snapping memorable moments.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer isn't the only charity that Kyla has been connected with this month. Kyla graciously accepted a request from the founder of the Lollypops Fund (Making Kids with Cancer Smile) to be their Patron. This is a role Kyla takes extremely seriously and she is actively assisting the organisers of the Lollypops 1st Annual Christmas Charity Ball which is being held at the Hilton, Dartford. The video of her first single is heading towards productionm she is working with Dr Lennie Taylor from the Truely Natural Company on a range of fabulous skin care products and much much more. Kent Ideas waits with wager anticipation for the next installment of this amazing woman's proof that age doesn't mean you can't change your life in to what you want it to be. To quote the inspiring lady herself, "The rest of your life begins here!"
