Karisma in Kent - Lesbian Networking

The most exciting thing to happen for Lesbians in Kent is gaining momentum! Karisma in Kent is the innovation of three Maidstone based business women who were tired of having to travel to London for Lesbian networking events. Kent isn't exactly the best county in the UK for gay and gay friendly pubs but there are some amazing places that can be used to host both informal and formal events. The Karisma girls have a number of events for gay women planned over the next few months including a River Medway Cruise, Dinners, Lunches and a HUGE Christmas bash. Although Karisma is a membership site it's possible to attend events as a guest but the events are emailed out to members first. "The concept of Karisma is very simple," explains founder member Hilary Steel, "Our aim is to create an environment that attracts professional gay women to come together at our events, whether that be for networking or just to mix with like minded lesbians. Of course, we would love to be the instigator of a love story or two".

There is no other group like this in Kent and within time the lesbian events will be held all over the county. The Karisma girls are also planning a Camping trip in Kent in 2012 which has already generated a lot of interest from the members. "The posibilities are endless. We simply want to have fun while networking and making new connections in Kent. Not all lesbians in Kent like to go out on the 'Scene' but would still like to mix with other like minded women. Karisma brings these people together at events that are well organised and everyone is made to feel at home." Hilary told us.
