Kent Castles
Kent has some beautiful castles such as Leeds Castle, which is almost like a fairytale castle in one of the most amazing settings. Leeds Castle is perfect for a family day out and as they host numerous events throughout the year there is always something of interesting happening there. Kent also has Castles that are not in such good shape but are well worth a visit none the less. Canterbury Castle is Norman Castle and lies about 10 minutes walk from Canterbury East Train Station. Canterbury Castle is one of the three original Royal Castles in Kent, the other two being Rochester Castle and Dover Castle. These castles were built around the time of the Battle of Hastings. Hever Castle is another beautiful Castle in Kent with stunning gardens and grounds as well as being a venue for Family Days Out in Kent. Bodium Castle is another Medieval Castle in Kent that was built in 1935 that has an impressive Gatehouse and original portcullis. Lympne Castle is a 14th Century Castle close to the Romney Marshes well worth a visit if only to see the ornate gardens.

Kent has some of the most picturesque villages in the country with many Kent Villages hosting traditional events throughout the year. Simply driving through the Kentish Countryside will fill you with images of times gone by as well as stunning views across the county. Some villages in Kent have been made famous thanks to certain TV shows. The haunted village of Pluckley was made famous by the series starring David Jason and Catherine Zeta Jones as well as by the hundreds of visitors who flock to the village in the hope of witnessing some paranormal activity first hand.
