Historical Maidstone

Maidstone is the County Town of Kent and lies on the River Medway. It is located to the South East of London and is the gateway to Europe with the ports of Dover, Folkestone and Ramsgate as well as the Eurotunnel. There is evidence of humans occupying Maidstone from as far back as the mesolithic period c. 9.000-4.000BC. There are also megalithic monuments located on the ourskirts of Maidstone that were probably used as meeting places.
