Expertise Homecare – Ripping Up the Care Franchise Rule Book

Posted on Friday, 29 August 2014 12:21PM by

An innovative new home care franchise company is set to revolutionise the UK’s booming at-home care sector through its state-of-the-art software and systems.

Expertise Homecare’s unique franchise model rips up the at-home care rule book – replacing outmoded and impractical processes with specifically-designed, technologically-advanced processes.

This model ensures the highest standards of care are always delivered – one of a number of unique selling points that allow franchisees to stand out from the domiciliary care crowd and secure significant returns on investment.

Expertise Homecare is built on four core principles of trust, transparency, quality and support, principles which form the basis of its offer to both franchisees and the people they will care for.

The company is owned and operated by care specialists Harriet Smith and Natalie Richards, who have extensive experience in the domiciliary care sector, having worked for both the NHS and private care organisations.

Harriet said: “There is a high and growing demand for quality home care in the UK which outstrips current provision. We believe that Expertise Homecare will shape the future of adult healthcare provision through our network of franchisees across the UK.

“Working in the sector, we have seen first-hand what works and what can be improved. The Expertise Homecare model retains the elements that we know work and replaces others with progressive and technologically advanced systems and solutions to provide a much higher quality, transparent service.”

Natalie added: “The home care sector has been using the same practices for decades. It’s time for a much-needed overhaul. Our innovative software and processes will raise the standard of care delivery in an open way that builds trust between our care providers and the people we care for and their families.”

Expertise Homecare provides franchisees from all backgrounds with a comprehensive package of support services throughout their franchise term.

At the outset of the contract, new franchisees will receive a Franchise Starter Pack that includes two weeks’ training delivered by Expertise Homecare directors, help recruiting a Registered Manager, a day’s IT software training, a full local launch programme, a set of marketing materials, UKHCA membership and a personalised website.

Ongoing monitoring and support will then be provided to ensure continuous development and improvement. This includes visits from members of Expertise Homecare’s senior management team,

regional training and telephone support as well as an annual audit, conference and franchise awards ceremony.

Additional guidance and advice is also available upon request.

Harriet said: “We believe in giving our franchisees as much support as they need, whenever they need it. This is much more than just a business for us.

“We are set to change the way home care is delivered and want all of our franchisees to succeed. The extensive support network we are putting in place will ensure our franchisees are part of a brand that stands out from the start, attracts new business and shapes the future of UK home care.”

Expertise Homecare will launch on Monday, September 1. The company already has two territories under offer, expects to have a minimum of 10 franchises operational in its first year and be looking at international growth in two to three years’ time.

People can find out more about Expertise Homecare and the opportunities available to them by attending an informal Discovery Day. The first regional Discovery Days will take place at The Abbey Centre, Great Smith Street, London SW1P 3BU, on Monday, October 13, and The Mercure Tunbridge Wells Hotel, Kent, on Tuesday, November 11.

Software and systems that raise standards

An example of Expertise Homecare’s innovative software is its simple-to-use real time notification system. The system requires carers to chart their progress on a hand-held device as they complete each task during each visit – making paper care plans, hand-written records and notes, and incessant filing a thing of the past.

This significantly reduces a carer’s admin and form-filling workload, freeing up more time to devote to caring. The software also sends automated e-mail notifications to family members, letting them see all completed actions – that a meal has been eaten or medication has been given.

This system makes the delivery of care more straightforward, helping to raise standards, and also provides families with much-needed reassurance and peace of mind that their loved-one is receiving the care they need.
