The City of Canterbury is one of the most beautiful cities in Kent. It has a regal air to it and is still full of quirky and interesting little nooks to be explored by the visitor to Kent.
Canterbury Cathedral is most definitely an amazing architectural structure and it towers over the city. Canterbury Cathederal can be seen as you approach the City from the Main roads. The City Wall is still visible that was built in Roman times and improved by the Normans who added 6 gates and 21 or so watch towers.
Canterbury lies on the River Stour and you can take a boat trip leaving from Westgate Gardens.
The City of Canterbury retains a unique charm and the City Centre still has a large number of old and interesting buildings. A walk through the City is a pleasant experience and there is a lot of city centre accommodation, Canterbury Pubs, Canterbury Restaurants and Canterbury Hotels to choose from.
